West Virginia Whites and Garlic Mustard

I came across a web site that offers a connection of the decline of the
West Virginia White (Pieris virginiensis) to the spread of garlic mustard
(Alliaria petiolata). The fact sheet for garlic mustard refers to the
displacement of the native toothworts (Dentaria sp.) and a toxic compound
in A. petiolata that results in unhatched eggs when laid on the plant.
Does anyone see this relationship occuring in CT? Any comments? I offer
public programs on invasive plants and on butterflies - I would like to
investigate this connection more.

The NPS web site URL is: http://www.nps.gov/plants/alien/fact/alpe1.htm
(did not know if people were leery of email attachments).
