Orbed Narrow-wing

According to Covell, the moth species Orbed Narrow-wing
(www.hmana.org/jbwr/am02.htm) is "tropical; regularly occurs from Fla. to
Texas, strays north to Maine, s. Ontario, and Wisconsin, Aug.-Nov.
northward". We sure have been getting a lot of them at Jamaica Bay lately,
and a few for the last month. What does is this mean - the information is
wrong? My ID is wrong (but I've had it verified by an "expert" at the Museum
of Natural History)? Or is this a Red Admiral of the night?
