A hot afternoon - in the upper 80's - and a warm evening brought out an incredible number of moths last night in my part of Connecticut!  They  literally covered the moth sheet!  Luna Moths (3) made their first appearance of the season, following their distant cousins, the Rosy Maple Moths (Dryocampa rubicunda), who first showed up last night.  There was a big explosion of  Pepper and Salt Geometers (Biston betuaria) - had to be about 30+ - and a couple of my favorites, the Colorful Zales (Zale minerea).

Now, it starts getting interesting...
