Bent Of The River NAS Butterflies

On Saturday, August 3rd, I visited this sanctuary in Southbury and found the 
following butterflies:

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (16)
Spicebush Swallowtail (13)
Cabbage White (4)
Clouded Sulphur (5)
Orange Sulphur (6)
Eastern Tailed Blue (6)
Great Spangled Fritillary (13)
Meadow Fritillary (1)
Pearl Crescent (5)
Common Ringlet (12)
Common Wood Nymph (5)
Monarch (7)
Silver-spotted Skipper (1)
Wild Indigo Duskywing (8)
Dun Skipper (3)

When I got home, I found 5 species on skippers nectaring on flowers in my 
garden.

Rich Chyinski's comment about more butterflies being on the wing the last few 
days seems to be accurate.
