Hi folks -

Stopped in Guilford today and had 3 new ones for the year - Great Spangled
Fritillary, Red-spotted Purple, and European Skipper. Also Tawny-edge and
Hobomok Skippers.

The picture is of the R-s Purple sipping perspiration from Bill Kobak's
finger. He netted it, took a swipe of his forhead(it was warm out), reached
into the net and allowed it to crawl onto his finger. It immediately began
to feed on the salts and didn't want to fly off. It's a good way to handle
a butterfly without harming it, and it provides it with a little treat for
its trouble.
