Flight season for Celastrina neglectamajor in CT just began this afternoon. After eight years of
searching, still only known from two towns in marble belt of mid-Fairfield County. Host plants at
largest stand recently reduced by 50% due to house construction. Working on saving what's left.
Would like to hear about any other possible locations for neglectamajor in the state. Adults
don't stray far from Cimicifuga. A few hundred plants typically required to support a population,
fewer for a satellite colony. Hope it's not too late for this species. - Dave Norris
