Haddam Meadows

Happy 4th!
   
  After the Walden butterfly walk on Saturday I stopped at Haddam Meadows.  The silver-spotterd skippers were everywhere.  I also saw:
   
  1 Tiger Swallowtail
   
  8 Monarchs - found a few caterpillars also.  I've created a butterfly garden at my school (Madison Montessori) so I'm rearing them to release in the garden.  Three are in their chrysalids as of this morning.
   
  3 Peck's Skipper
   
  2 Baltimore Checkerspots
   
   
  For you moth-ers, we spotted a Virginia Ctenucha at the end of the day in Salem - what a beauty!!
