Butterfly Sightings

Friday, July 7th- Peary Stafford showed Bill Banks and I around the  
Macricostas, Hidden Valley and Steep Rock Preserve up in Washington where  we found a 
total of 24 species of butterflies.  The list for the  day is as follows:

Cabbage White (4)
Orange Sulphur (1)
Harvester (1)
Banded Hairstreak (1)
Striped Hairstreak (1)
Eastern Tailed Blue (6)
Summer Azure (1)
Great Spangled Fritillary (19)
Meadow Fritillary (1)
Baltimore Checkerspot (1)
Eastern Comma (1)
Compton Tortoiseshell (1)
Mourning Cloak (1)
Red Admiral (2)
Northern Pearly Eye (1)
Little Wood-Satyr (2)
Common Wood Nymph (9)
Monarch (9)
Silver-spotted Skipper (2)
Least Skipper (1)
European Skipper (2)
Peck's Skipper (1) (very worn)
Dun Skipper (4) (my first of the year)
