We'd had thoughts of trying a meadow where Baltimores are known to be,
but tried other areas first, & in the heat of the afternoon, opted for
a cooler
environment. There was butterfly activity from at least 8 a.m. until 8
p.m. !

Incidentally, a quick trip 1 WEEK EARLIER to Goshen WMA (Litchfield Co.)
revealed very few species - & very little in bloom, on that earlier
date there.

Flying in various areas of central Litchfield County, on Sunday, June
18th:

Black Swallowtail (male)
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Spicebush Swallowtail
Cabbage White
Orange Sulphur (few)
Clouded Sulphur
Summer Azure (1)
Great Spangled Fritillary (few males, & very fresh)
Silver-bordered Fritillary (few, but fresh-looking)
