hairstreaks and reminders

Out in the backyard in Chester, checking on plants after the rain, saw 
two Striped Hairstreaks
one Silver Spotted Skipper
and one Cabbage White

The hairstreaks reminded me that I had also seen two Striped Hairstreaks at my mother's house in Westport on Friday 6/23 (along with numerous Cabbage Whites and what appeared to be Azures--didn't get a close look).

Just visited www.ctbutterfly.org and was delighted to see that the CBA picnic has been added!  It will be Saturday July 8, meeting at 10 AM at Chaffinch Island Park in Guilford.

But before that, this Saturday, July 1 at 9:30 AM, Carol Lemmon and Lenny Brown will be leading a trip to Lake Wintergreen in Hamden.  

Let's hope that the weather cooperates for our July trips!
