In anticipation of the Field Trip on sunday to the Trumbull Nature and
Arts center, I spent an enjoyable 1-1/2 hours there today, Wed, from
10:15 until about 11:45, when it got cloudier than it had been, and
started to sprinkle. This is a nice area, with a small pond and 2
fields to check out. While there were mainly CROSSLINE and LITTLE
GLASSYWINGS, there were other butterflies to keep it interesting.

The following were what was seen.....

Cabbage White...1
Clouded Sulphur... 2
Great Spangled Fritillary... 1
Anglewing sp... 1
Red Admiral...1
Little Wood Satyr... 1
Common Wood Nymph... 3
Monarch... 2
Silver-spotted Skipper... 2
European Skipper... 1
Crossline Skipper... 15+
Little Glassywing... 20+
Zabulon Skipper... 2
Dusted Skipper... 1
There were also several different Dragonflies present, including, but
not limited to the following:
Common Whitetail, Halloween Pennant, Twelve-spotted Skimmer, Green
Darner.
Hope to see you on Sunday for this first look at the area.

Bill Banks
