Well, the beautiful weather and early butterfly sightings have reminded me...it's time to remind you about the Connecticut Butterfly Association Spring Meeting!

On Wednesday April 18, 2007, at 7:30 PM, Dr. Richard Prum, Curator of Ornithology and Vertebrate Zoology at Yale Peabody Museum, will speak on “Structural Color in Butterflies”. Dr. Prum is an evolutionary biologist whose interest in insects primarily extends to butterflies, moths and dragonflies. His current work is on the physics and evolution of structural coloration in birds and has focused on such diverse topics as bird behavior, feathers, structural color, sexual
selection, historical biogeography and systematics. He has traveled and worked throughout the Neotropics, Madagascar and China.

The event will take place at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station’s Jones Auditorium, 123 Huntington St., New Haven, CT. It is free and open to the public.

Directions are available on the CBA website, www.ctbutterfly.org

Hope to see you there!
Diane
