Common Checkered Skipper, Hamden

8/5/09 - Lockwood Farm (The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station),  
Hamden -1 COMMON CHECKERED SKIPPER seen briefly at 10:30 and later near  
noon.
 
During the first Plant  Science Day walk, it landed on a dandelion near 
someone's shoe. Later, I  went back to the same place, near the squash plants, 
and the skipper was flying  low over the ground.
