This is not specifically about butterflies, but certainly relates...

Be a part of shaping Connecticut’s Environmental Literacy Plan, ELP, a comprehensive state plan to ensure all Connecticut citizens are environmentally literate.

Sponsored by the Connecticut Outdoor & Environmental Education Association and the ELP Steering Committee, a series of collaborative workshops throughout the state are being held to gather input for the development of Connecticut’s ELP. The workshops will provide background on the ELP purpose process, history of the NCLI federal legislation and

potential funding. This is your opportunity to shape the content of Connecticut’s ELP. To register for a workshop, please call 203-734-2513 or ernail partnerships at coeea.org . Let us know the date you wish to attend. Confirmation will be sent along with electronic copies of materials to read and bring with you to the workshop.

The greater the diversity of individuals and groups providing input, the better the plan will be for Connecticut. Please share this announcement with other organizations, businesses and individuals involved with environmental planning, decision-making and education. Workshops are free, except April 30, where conference registration will provide you with choice of workshops, lunch and full day of speakers.

If you are unable to attend a workshop, but want to be part of the network go to www.coeea.org . You may download copies of the Case for Support and sign on to the network of people supporting the development of the ELP.

The health o] Connecticut’s future depends on its citizens being environmentally literate and able to make informed choices about issues such as sustainability of resources, air quality and land development.
