Leps Inventory at Skunkamaug Meadow, Tolland

We're working on an inventory at this new Joshua's Trust property in
Tolland. It consist of 20+ acres of meadow in old gravel workings, plus
wetland and riparian areas. The 5 main fields each have distinctive
plants and habitat.
Today seen:
7/28/11 Am. Copper, Common Ringlet, Orange Sulphur ,Viceroy, Red
Admiral, Appalachian Brown, Spicebush Swallowtail, Black Swallowtail,
Wild Indigo Duskywing, Pearl Crescent (100's!!)
Skippers: Pecks, Black Dash, N Broken Dash, Clouded Skipper, Silver
Spotted Skipper
Anyone who would like to visit this preserve, it can be accessed
from the end of Lemek Lane. Just walk in past the chained entrance to
right of No Dumping sign. Follow the dirt road until you come to the
fields. If you keep to the open areas you will be on Trust property.
Please send on any lists of butterfly sightings.
