Giant swallowtails

Giant swallowtails have definitely become established here in CT. Went to
Robbins Swamp WMA out in Canaan and saw this species 7 times over the course
of a couple hours yesterday afternoon. Couldn't find any larvae on *
Zanthoxylum* this time...probably because it is a few weeks too early. Only
once did I see 2 Giants at one time, but I am certain that more of them are
'on the wing' out in the swamp.

If you want to see this butterfly, park in the small dirt parking lot next
to the 'Robbins Swamp Wildlife Management Area' sign along Route 7 in
Canaan. Giant swallowtails visit the bee balm at the edge of this parking
lot every 15 minutes or so.
