Maraleen Manos-Jones has raised, released and tagged monarchs since 1972, and, after a two month search in 1977, became the first woman from the U.S. to discover the monarchs overwintering habitats in Mexico. Returning almost every year since then, she has worked with local communities and with Forests for Monarchs, a non-profit reforestation project that has planted six million trees over the past 14 years.  
She intertwines fascinating science, myth, culture, art, poetry, legend, and literature, combined with environmental issues, to share her passion and concern for butterflies and their habitats.   She is also known as Butterfly Woman. 
She has lectured extensively, including at Harvard Museum of Natural History, Yale Peabody Museum, National Museum of Natural History, and the Florida Federation of Gardeners.
 
Directions: Take I-91 to Exit 6 (Willow St.)  Turn right onto Willow and follow to end.  Turn right onto Whitney Ave.  Take the third left onto Huntington St.  The Ag. Station will be 1-1/2 blocks on the right.  Park in lot & walk up hill to Jones Auditorium.
