It looks like it might be a Common Threering.  Is this the only pic you have? 
 One of the underside might hold more clues.

Hi,
 
I don’t post often on this list – mostly I just hope to see a Giant Swallowtail 
someday in my backyard…  I have seen tons of Painted Ladies this year, on 
Butterfly Bush, Joe-Pye Weed, and Boneset.  Anyway, there  are enough posts 
about the local butterflies.  My question is probably stretching  the limits of 
this forum – it’s a little off-topic.  Hopefully I won’t offend anyone with a 
quick identification question on a butterfly I saw in China.
 
The butterfly in the image was seen in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China, on June 
3, 2012, at 10 AM on Elephant Hill (at about 2400 meters).  Any ideas what it 
could be?
