On Saturday, 6/16, 14 participants joined me for a survey of the
butterflies at Stratford Point. We found a total of 11 species. The list for the
day was as follows:

Black Swallowtail (5)
Cabbage White (8)
Clouded Sulphur (4)
Orange Sulphur (10)
Eastern Tailed Blue (10)
Pearl Crescent (1)
American Lady (3)
Monarch (2)
European Skipper (25)
Tawny-edged Skipper (1) (very worn)

Two Viceroys flew along the fence outside the property when I was leaving.

If 2011 was any indication, August and September is a much better time to
visit this site for butterflies.
