In my haste to send out a report on my sighting of a Zebra Swallowtail, I forgot to mention that I did in fact see a small amount of red/orange color on the trailing corner of the hind wings.

It was a large butterfly with bold parallel (basically) black and white zebra stripes on the wings. I watched it as it flew past me and away with my brand-new Swarovski 8.5X42 binoculars. It had a pretty direct flight low over the dune. I got my camera ready to get a record photo, but the butterfly never stopped. I subsequently spent a bit of time searching for it along the boardwalk. Had I remembered that the City recently planted some salvias by the renovated pavilion, I would have looked there too.
