8/26 - I found a Titan Sphinx Moth in my yard at dusk; I believe this is
the first CT record unless someone knows of another. This species can only
survive the winter in the Deep South and the Florida Keys. I think there
are only two or three previous New England records.

I managed some surprisingly good photos, it stayed around for about 15
minutes: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__flic.kr_p_LtVV85&d=CwIBaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=wPbNkt6T_H4X7m_PlvSFCGU2a9-csNvfRK2IVMi-mp0&m=os1ISlSYzXpxVNK4K3ItI7ISauAqIGAcwClW-Hl5QsM&s=ku6lwyzjXsQuc2XMAsQ14zmF77253BJ6DzEySITgd70&e=

There have been good numbers of Gray Hairstreaks in my yard recently, at
least four at a time on chaste tree. This large one with a lot of orange
caught my eye, perhaps a southern subspecies? https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__flic.kr_p_LArd4j&d=CwIBaQ&c=-dg2m7zWuuDZ0MUcV7Sdqw&r=wPbNkt6T_H4X7m_PlvSFCGU2a9-csNvfRK2IVMi-mp0&m=os1ISlSYzXpxVNK4K3ItI7ISauAqIGAcwClW-Hl5QsM&s=3ORYVdcW_a970kd9kPH9dNdxwdkEP2ooUvTeaVVeCAc&e=

I also had a Giant Swallowtail briefly fly through my yard on 8/23.
