The Faculty of Linguistics, Philology, and Phonetics at the University of Oxford will be hosting the 25<sup style="box-sizing:border-box;font-size:12px;line-height:0;top:-0.5em">th International Conference on Historical Linguistics (ICHL25),

 from<span> </span><strong style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:bold">1 to 5 August 2022</strong>. This conference has been postponed from the originally planned year of 2021.</p>

<em style="box-sizing:border-box">The ICHL brings together historical linguists and specialists in related fields to explore advances in areas including methods and practices of linguistic reconstruction; formal approaches to language change; historical sociolinguistics;

 computational approaches to historical linguistics; contact and areal linguistics; interfaces between historical linguistics and other disciplines; and many other related areas.</em></p>

<strong style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:bold">Abstracts are now invited for papers in the general session and in workshops, and for poster presentations:</strong><span> </span>Each paper accepted will be allocated 20 minutes for presentation and 10

 minutes for questions and discussion. In addition, two 90-minute poster sessions are planned.</p>

 may include a second page for references).</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box">Abstracts should be submitted via<span> </span><a href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ichl25" target="_blank" rel="noopener" tabindex="-1" style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(51, 122, 183)">EasyChair</a>.</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box">The deadline for submission is<span> </span><strong style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:bold">15 December 2021</strong>.</li><li style="box-sizing:border-box">You should indicate whether you wish your paper to take the form of a<span> </span><strong style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:bold">talk</strong><span> </span>or a<span> </span><strong style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:bold">poster</strong><span> </span>(or

 wish to submit an abstract for a workshop, we encourage them to contact the workshop organizers ahead of time for advice on workshop coherence.</em></p>
