The Summer Traveling Fellowships are awarded to Juniors (or
students for whom 2006 is their final summer) in Yale College who give
evidence that their educational experience can be significantly enhanced
by an independent project of study and/or research outside of the
continental United States. The selection committee normally expects the
proposals to be for independent projects, although it occasionally allows
accompanying enrollment in a formal program of study (not supported by
the Fellowship). Last year 53 fellowships were awarded.
