(432-8684). As of next week, walk-ins will only be held on Tuesday

hour block of walk-ins will be added in the next couple of

to Year or Term Abroad<br>

<font size=3>To reflect the addition of 2nd semester sophomore study
abroad, we've change the name of the study abroad program on our web site
to Year or Term Abroad. Please remember, that despite the
fact that Junior Year or Term Abroad will still show up in Yale
publications this year, students can also study abroad in the 2nd
semester of their sophomore year (see the announcement from April

<font size=3>Friday, September 8th was the date of our <i>Welcome Back
Reception</i> for returning study abroad students. It was great to
see so many returnees and to hear their exciting stories from all around
the world… Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the
South Pacific! Prospective study abroad students can find many of
the returnees on our peer advisor list. Thanks to all who attended
and welcome back! We look forward to hearing even more about your

application deadline: University College London<br>

<font size=3>The first Yale application deadline is fast
approaching. If you will be studying abroad at University College
London in the coming spring semester, you must submit both your UCL and
Year or Term Abroad applications to the Yale's Committee by <b>Friday,
September 22, 2006<br><br>
</b>Other spring deadlines can be found at:

note that program/foreign university application deadlines differ from
Yale's internal deadline, so check the program web sites to make certain
you don't miss those deadlines. IEFP advice is to always apply well
ahead of deadlines as sometimes programs fill early (this is particularly
true of SIT programs!). <br><br>

passport?<br>
</b></font></div>
<font size=3>If you don't have a passport and plan on traveling abroad
(for study or other activities) next semester, or in summer 2007, you
should apply soon. Information about the application process is
available at

http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html</a>. Don't
delay! It can take up to 6 weeks (possibly longer) to get your
passport after submitting the application to a passport acceptance
facility. If you are worried about how long it will take, you can
choose the expedited service option. See the State department web
site for a listing of passport acceptance facilities and other
information about the application process.<br><br>
