<DIV>Hello!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>My name is Kiwa Iyobe and I'm currently pursuing an M.A. in Comparative
Culture at Sophia University in Tokyo. I mainly study Japanese
literature now, but I have been interested in Japanese film since my
undergraduate days at Barnard College in NYC where I was the coordinator of an
on-campus group that periodically organized screenings of movies from East
Asia. In fact, I'm presently in the process of trying
to come up with an interdisciplinary thesis proposal
that combines Japanese film and literature. Unfortunately there are
no graduate-level courses in film offered at my institution so I am sort of
on my own here in terms of film-related academic guidance. I
came across this site when I was looking up information on 東京夜曲 (Tokyo
Lullaby) by Ichikawa Jun, a film I am considering writing a shorter paper
on. I was pleasantly surprised to find that that such an e-mail list
existed and I hope to learn a lot from the other members through
this forum. Thank you! よろしくお願いします!</DIV>
