up a point that I've been meaning to bring up for some time. I was wondering
if this new International Version will be playing in the new Virgin complex
at Roppongi Hills, with subs. <BR>The new Virgin cinema has been playing a
lot of foreign releases with simultaneous English subtitles - the Brazilian
film City of God was maybe the first, and also there were late night
screenings of the Hong Kong film Hero. Of course, being Japan, they only
ever publish this particular information in Japanese, though to be fair,
Japan Times does highlight what’s going on. Personally I only ever
check on a case-by-case basis on their website when there’s a film I
particularly want to see.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

ex-pat publications such as Metropolis act as is Japanese cinema
doesn’t actually exist, increasing the illusion that everyone in Japan
only watches Hollywood films, I was wondering if anyone was aware on what
Virgin’s policy on English subtitling and why they don’t make a
little more effort to publicise what they are showing to the very audiences
they are trying to attract. I heard a rumour that Zatoichi played there with
English subtitles, but again, Zatoichi didn’t even so much as garner a
