You can add me to the list of people who love Yoshida (with great company, as I have tremendous respect for Matthew, David Desser and Alexander Jacoby). I bought almost all of his films on DVD from <span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1200248125_0">Japan</span> and have enjoyed them *Immensely*. Actually, it's hard to get me to shut up about them (ask some of my friends.) The prospect of a revitalization of interest in Yoshida has me brimming with excitement.<br><br>It's a shame no one has tapped his Ozu documentary for a DVD special feature (where I imagine it would get the most audience). When I was researching my book, <u>Eros plus Massacre</u>, in Japan in the summer of 1984, his
films were a real revelation; not to mention that I stole my book’s title from his film. He was also extremely kind and generous in interviews and, later, just socializing.
