Dear Film Studies Colleagues:<br>

I have some very sad news to report. As you may have heard on television,<br>
radio or in the newspaper, Prof. Keiko McDonald passed away over the<br>
weekend. While fishing at a club in Indiana County, she lost her footing,<br>
fell into the water, hit her head, and drowned. She was pronounced dead on<br>
the morning of Sunday September 14.<br>
<br>
I am in touch with the chair of her department, Hiroshi Nara, and have<br>
asked him to keep us posted as to any memorial arrangements that might be<br>
made since I know many of you will want to attend or participate in them.<br>
<br>
Other than that, the obituary in today's newspaper (see link below) says<br>
that funeral arrangements will be handled by Frederick Bowser Funeral Home<br>
in Homer City. Her husband's name is Charles McDonald and they lived on<br>
Bayard Road in Oakland, should any of you want to be in touch with him.<br>
<br>
Again, I am sorry to be the bearer of such upsetting news but I thought<br>
you would all want to know about the passing of our esteemed and valued<br>
colleague.<br>
