This year’s symposium is entitled “Mapping the Spaces <br>of Media Culture in Asia: Information, Communication and Politics”, <br>and will be held at the University of Tokyo on October 29-30, 2009. <br>This year’s symposium is proud to welcome the participation of City <br>University of Hong Kong and The Australian National University.<br><br>The convergence of media culture arising from the growth of new media, <br>diversity of distribution channels, and rise of global media producers <br>and consumers has heightened awareness of the importance of <br>communications and media studies. In Asia, cooperation in the study of <br>the changing media landscape’s impact on communication, culture, and <br>society is of profound importance to developing a secure and peaceful <br>future.
