Hi all,

I am currently writing my University dissertation on Akira Kurosawa's films during the Allied Occupation of Japan (1945-1952), however when it comes to reviewing the wartime films of Kurosawa (for example, 'Sanshiro Sugata' Parts 1 and 2) and the Postwar films of Ozu ('Record of a Tenement Gentlemen') and Yamamoto ('Horses', 'Those Who Make Tomorrow') among other notable directors, the ability to find any 'watchable' content is somewhat disconcerting. For example, I did find and purchase a copy of 'Sanshiro Sugata' on eBay but the film contained out-of-sync audio and the incorrect subtitles.

I was just wondering if anybody knew of a safe, and acceptable company (on-line or off) which deals in the large-scale distribution of early/Postwar Japanese films and if they ship their DVDs/video cassettes to the United Kingdom (I currently reside in the North of England).

Any help would be appreciated in this manner,

Thank you,

Jordan
