Dear Kinejapaners,<div><br></div><div>I am sorry to bother you for such a small problem : translating Oshima's "Cruel Story of Youth Notebook" published in 1963's Sengo eiga hakai to sôzô, I am now facing the usual problem of Japanese names and other proper nouns. In Oshima 4th notebook, he reviews several people's point of view regarding the script for his next film : the second one appears as 織田宣伝部, which name one shall read as "Oda Sendenbu". Does someone know who that Oda was ? The point here is actually about that "sendenbu", and the accurate meaning of that "publicity department" : would it be Shochiku's or another studio ? Would Oda be the head or a member of the department ? Or would it be something totally different ?</div>
<div>Could someone give me some hint ? </div><div>Many thanks, as always,</div><div><br></div><div>Mathieu Capel</div><div>Paris</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br>
