Hi all,

Takashi Miike's Hara-Kiri (Ichimei) will be screened at Cannes in few days. It seems to be based on the original book, Takiguchi's Ibun ronin ki (so not a remake per se?). Which was first adapted into film in 1962. While trying to find out what are the differences between the book, and the film version(s), I've discovered a thesis written on this subject, called "Film adaptations of written narrative : Kobayashi's Seppuku and Takiguchi's Ibun ronin ki".

Seems to be worth reading, do you know how to contact the author of this work (Andy Nakatani -- see this link)? Or how to read this work?

That could be helpful, later, cf. Miike's film (written by Yamagishi).

Thanks,

Michael
http://wildgrounds.com
