As in the desire to "Protect the [our?my?] Planet", the bracketed possessive marks the acknowledgement in disavowal of the non-sovereignty that grounds our affective attachment to a common space of dwelling. What matters is the constitution as constitution, the planet as planet, in a non-sovereign love relation that relies on the desire for this adorable thing to become mine, while remaining essentially alien. In this first workshop on the Planetary and Love, we will discuss how an imperative non-sovereign relation, love as atmosphere, stages our attachment to the national, the human and the planetary in Fukushima Japan. Looking at a variety of texts from movies to the <i>Oshinbo</i> comic, we will attempt to understand how a planetary love can allow us to perform in our everyday academic practices what Lauren Berlant terms “a shift in attachment style.”</span></p><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; line-height: 22px; font: normal normal normal 11px/normal Candara; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><br></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; line-height: 22px; font: normal normal normal 11px/normal Candara; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px">English and Japanese⎜Free Admission ⎜No Registration Required</span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Candara; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><i>Organized by Christophe Thouny</i> <i>email: <a href="mailto:ct843@nyu.edu">ct843@nyu.edu</a></i></span></div></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Candara; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><i><br></i></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Candara; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><i><br></i></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Candara; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><i><br></i></span></div></body></html>
