has opened a site celebrating the 100th anniversary of animation in
Japan. The site features 64 animated films made between 1917 and 1941
that can be viewed in full, some with English subtitles (the site
itself, however, is in Japanese and it doesn't seem to work on all
browsers). You can see films by such greats as Ofuji Noburo, Seo Mitsuo, Masaoka Kenzo, Murata Yasuji, Yamamoto Sanae, Kitayama Seitaro, and Kouchi Jun’ichi. There are even some of the abstract animation films of Ogino Shigeji. A special section features the work of the pioneer animator
Ofuji Noburo. The NFC is far behind other archives, such as the Korean
Film Archive, in making available its films for streaming, but it is
