Dear KineJapan members,<br>
<br>
This is a shameless self-promotion on the National Cat Day. My new book, <i>Cinema Is a Cat: A Cat Lover's Introduction to Film Studies</i>, is now available from the University of Hawai'i Press. Thank you, Aaron and Hiroshi, for your generous blurbs!
<br>
<br>
This book is not specifically about Japanese cinema, but there are several chapters in which I discuss Japanese films, including
<i>Neko to Shozo to futari no onna</i>; <i>Neko zamurai</i>; and <i>Janguru taitei Leo</i>. I published a Japanese book (<i>shinsho</i>) with a very similar title in 2011, but this book is not a translated version of it. New chapters and new intro were added,
 and other chapters were significantly re-written for different target audiences. This book has more illustrations, too! I hope you enjoy, especially those of you cat lovers!
<br>
<br>
Thank you,<br>
