today that the Udine festival is
postponed, on public health grounds, to now run 26 June to 4^th July.

<p style="margin-top:6pt">I understand the entirely sensible action but I see that, alas, my travel insurance disclaims any cancellation
costs caused ‘by the actions of a conference organiser’ and simply doesn’t
cover rescheduling.</p>

<p style="margin-top:6pt"><i>Cinema Ritrovato </i>at Bologna,
of which Alex has given us a glimpse (Kawashima) runs until 28^th June.
The BFI have a Japan
season in May and June. I think the cut-off between the two months comes around
the mid 60s, but I’m not aware of any firm screening dates yet.</p>

<p style="margin-top:6pt">In case it can be of any consolation, Paris
has an upcoming Shimizu season. The
Cinémathèque fran<span>ç</span>aise have
their schedule up <a href="https://www.cinematheque.fr/cycle/hiroshi-shimizu-567.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>
(click on ‘calendrier’ for date-order. The alternative screenings are at the
MCJP, whose dates are not announced but I have had sight of a draft schedule
for which includes screenings on the 24^th, 25^th, 28^th
and 30^th April in the week of the now-postponed FEFF dates.</p>

<p style="margin-top:6pt">All subject to further possible public health considerations, of course.</p>
