1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Subject: Founding of the IAYT
From: Philip Kutner <fishl at derbay.org>
The International Association of Yiddish Teacher was founded at the
Twelfth International Association of Yiddish Clubs Conference in La Jolla,
California, October 24-27, 2008.
There were 35 Yiddish teachers from the US, Canada and Mexico attending
the conference. The teachers portion consisted of 4 panels each with a
moderator and 4 teachers. The panels were; Using Songs in Teaching
Yiddish, Curriculum Content, Pedagogical Methodology and Organizational
Future. These areas covered the 4 levels; preschool, shule, university and
adult/senior.
Lori Cahan-Simon distributed a questionnaire that she had designed with
master teacher, Gella Fishman. Lori also moderates a list of over 150
Yiddish Teachers.
The new website temporarily resides at WWW.derbay.org and contains the
names of the panelists and the 35 attending teachers.
The group will meet at future IAYC conferences and may meet at others.
