Subject: Yosef Shimen Goldshteyn

I am a writer currently working on a novel that takes place in Warsaw in 
the late 1930s. The main character is based on a historical personage, the 
Yiddish writer and humorist Yosef Shimen Goldshteyn, who wrote for Haynt 
and later for the Forverts.

I am searching for assistance in two areas. First, if anyone has any 
personal knowledge of Goldshteyn, it would be heaven sent. In particular, 
I have been unable to find much information on the family he left behind 
in Warsaw when he fled the Nazis, all of whom were killed. The only 
information I've been able to find to date is that I believe his wife 
was a musician with the Warsaw Philharmonic, but I cannot even locate her 
name. With regard to their children, I can find nothing.

I am secondarily interested with anyone who can provide good details on 
daily life in Jewish Warsaw in the period from 1935-1938.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
