Yiddish of Greater Washington presents THE SHEKHTER-TEKHTER AND BINYUMIN
in "Our Zeydes and Bubbes as Children," Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 4 p.m,
at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington, 6125 Montrose Rd.,
Rockville MD
Composer, singer, and Yiddishist Binyumin Schaechter joins with his two
young daughters, Reyne and Temele, in a lively revue that was acclaimed on
three
continents in 2008. Songs are in Yiddish; translations will be provided.
Binyumin Schaechter is the composer of several off-Broadway shows and the
director of the 87-year-old Jewish People' Philharmonic Choir of New York
City,
which sang recently at Lincoln Center, Shea Stadium, and Ground Zero.
Tickets are $18 for the general public, $12 members of JCC & Yiddish of
Greater Washington. Available through box office at 301-348-3872, or at
the door.
