Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements

May 19, 2011

To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:
1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Dear Mendelyaner,

This month, May 2011, the bi-monthly Israeli journal "Lebns-fragn", "the
only Yiddish periodical in the Middle East" will be marking the 60th
anniversary of its regular uninterrupted publication by the Arbeter-ring
in Israel. A festive morning celebrating this event will take place
Wednesday morning, May 25th at the Arbeter-ring, 48 Kalisher Street in Tel
Aviv.

We call upon the devoted readers of this secular, socialist Yiddish
journal to send in greetings and donations to enable us to prepare a gala
jubilee issue, as well as to enable us to continue our work in future
issues.

Remember that this publication is a joint production of the editorial
board, its staff, and its readers.
