Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements

February 7, 2012

To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:

1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice,
*not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Subject: Commemoration of fifth yortsayt of Mordkhe Schaechter, Feb. 11

Please join us as we commemorate the fifth yortsayt of our father, Dr.
Mordkhe Schaechter, on motsei-shabbos, February 11, 52 Ellsworth Avenue,
Yonkers, NY 10705, at 7:30 pm. The program will be entirely in Yiddish

His eynikl, Naftuli Ejdelman, will talk about Zeyde Mordkhe's dream to
start a Yiddish-speaking community on a farm in Roosevelt, NJ. We will
also read a chapter of the memoirs of Dr. Schaechter's mother, Lifshe
Shekhter-Vidman, listen to a recording of lullabies that he made in the
1950s, and sing several of the songs that he loved to listen and hum along
to.

Please RSVP at 914-548-7739

The family will also be sponsoring a shalesh-sudes in his memory that
shabes at Beth Aaron in Teaneck, NJ
