is now accepting applications participants
and counselors for the 9th annual <i><b>National Native American Youth
Initiative</b></i>
<i>(NNAYI)</i> to be held in June 17-25, 2006 in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city
w:st="on">Washington</st1:city> <st1:state w:st="on">DC</st1:state></st1:place>.
The NNAYI curriculum is
strategically designed to prepare students for admission to college and
professional schools, as well as for careers in health and biomedical
research. More
than 60 students are selected to receive a scholarship to pay for
travel,
lodging, and most meals during the program. The NNAYI seeks
applications
from <b><i>Native American high school students</i></b>, age 16- 18,
with a 2.5 GPA, who are
interested in the health professions to participate in the program.<span
style=""> </span><i>Counselor/chaperone positions</i> will be filled
by <i><b>Native American college students</b></i> <i>and health
professionals</i>, age 21 and older, who will receive a stipend.<span
