Institute (NCI) is pleased to announce the 2008 Introduction to Cancer
Research Careers (ICRC) Program. ICRC is designed to encourage
individuals from populations underrepresented in science and/or
financially disadvantaged backgrounds to seek internship opportunities
at the NCI. Successful ICRC applicants will take part in a 2-day
campus visit to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda,
Maryland, where they will have the opportunity to learn about the
various programs for scientists-in-training, participate in laboratory
tours, interview for either a summer or post-baccalaureate (1-year)
internship. Participants selected for internships receive a monthly
stipend, round-trip travel, and summer housing accommodations. </span></font></p>

style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"></span></font> <font
face="Arial" size="2"><span
style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">Our goal is to encourage
a diverse group of talented students to explore careers in biomedical
research. You can help us meet that goal by sharing this information
with students you know who would benefit from this opportunity. While
we are certainly making efforts to publicize this information in a
variety of formats to our target audience, we know that persons such as
you are in the best position to recommend students to the program. </span></font></p>

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 22, 2008
DOE's Tribal Energy Program is offering summer internships to Native
American students who are interested in renewable energy and who are
currently college upper-classmen or graduate students. To be considered
for the 2008 summer program applications must be received by February
22, 2008.
