students<BR><BR><BR><BR>Hello!<BR><BR>My name is Valerie De Cruz and I am
director of the Greenfield Intercultural<BR>Center (GIC). The GIC is a student
activity center dedicated to helping<BR>increase diversity and support for
diverse populations at the University of<BR>Pennsylvania. We are working with
faculty, administrators and students at<BR>Penn to develop a recruitment
strategy for recruiting Native American<BR>students to the University of
Pennsylvania (Penn). We are an Ivy League<BR>institution located in the heart of
Philadelphia. The student recruitment<BR>strategy is part of an ongoing campus
project to make Penn more accessible<BR>to and supportive of Native people. Our
partners on campus include Six<BR>Directions, a student organization that works
to build Native community at<BR>Penn and to raise awareness on campus about
issues that impact Native<BR>communities. There is also a newly conceived Center
for Native American<BR>Studies that is working to bring Native scholars to
campus and to increase<BR>academic offerings in this area and a new Association
of Native Alumni<BR>(ANA). We are interested in any insights you may have on the
population in<BR>your area, where the communities are located and any
suggestions on how we<BR>can reach out to Native communities in your area. We
were hoping you could<BR>also connect us to resources (schools, community
organizations and<BR>individuals) that can help us in this effort. Thank you in
