Native
Peoples and the Environment at SUNY College of Environmental Science

with a grant from SUNY Conversations in the Disciplines. SUNY Cortland,
<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on"><u2:place><u2:PlaceName>Syracuse</u2:PlaceName></u2:place>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on"><u2:PlaceType>University</u2:PlaceType></st1:PlaceType></st1:PlaceName></st1:place>,
the Native American SUNY Western Consortium and the Central New York
Native
American Consortium are valued collaborators.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

scholars, indigenous

 w:st="on"><u2:PlaceType>State</u2:PlaceType></st1:PlaceType></st1:PlaceName></st1:place>
to think and work together on one of our most pressing issues.
Community
members and students are encouraged to attend. Together we will explore
how we
might bring to bear the power of two great intellectual traditions,
traditional
ecological knowledge (<u2:stockticker>TEK</u2:stockticker>) and
scientific
ecological knowledge (SEK) for our shared concerns of ecological
sustainability.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

speakers,
including Oren Lyons of the Onondaga Nation, Neil Patterson of
Tuscarora
Nation,&nbsp; Dr. Dan Longboat (Mohawk) and Dr. Holly Youngbear Tibbetts
from the
College of the Menominee Nation. We&#8217;re looking forward to Drs. Don
Grinde
(SUNY Buffalo), Chris Vecsey ( Colgate), Karim-Aly Kassam (Cornell) and
Stewart
Diemont (SUNY <u2:stockticker>ESF</u2:stockticker>) sharing their
expertise.&nbsp;
