Ichthyology Position at the American Museum of Natural History

Systematic Ichthyologist.- The American Museum of Natural History seeks
applications for a 
tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Curator of Ichthyology with
a research focus on 
fish systematics (marine and/or freshwater). Candidates must have a
demonstrated ability to 
conduct original, collections-based systematic research on recent fishes;
an ambitious field 
program, collection management experience, and a record of successful
grantsmanship are 
strongly preferred. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain a
strong research 
publication output, accept joint responsibility for curation and management
of the recent fish 
collections, contribute to growth of the collections, and participate in
AMNH graduate student and
postdoctoral training programs. Further responsibilities may include
participation in public 
programs, teaching, exhibitions, administration, participation in
biodiversity and conservation 
initiatives, and other activities that promote and enhance science.
Appointment will be made 
no earlier than 1 July 2001 with rank and salary commensurate with
experience; a Ph.D. is 
required at the time of appointment. Candidates should send the following
