Fossil Preparator
Dallas Museum of Natural History

 The Dallas Museum of Natural History Department of Paleontology
currently has a position available for a fossil preparator.  The
Department of Paleontology has an expanding collection of fossil plants,
invertebrates and vertebrates.  The Museum collections contain fossils
from the Precambrian to the Quaternary.  The current research program in
vertebrate paleontology at the Museum focuses on Lower Devonian and
Upper Cretaceous rocks of western North America.

The preparator reports to the Curator of Earth Sciences.  Duties include
all components of fossil preparation, molding and casting, coordinating
activities for approximately active volunteers, field work, and database
management.  In addition to the Curator of Earth Sciences, the
individual will also work with two part-time employees in the
department.  A bachelor’s degree in geology or biology required, a
master’s degree preferred.  Excellent benefits package included.
Starting salary is $25,000.
