ASSISTANT CURATOR, VASCULAR PLANTS

Salary £13,846 - £19,143

The Natural History Museum, London invites applications to join the team 
managing the collections of the Department of Botany.  You will play a 
varied and important part in the care and development of a major taxonomic 
facility with opportunities to liase with specialists from all over the world.

Main responsibilities will relate to the 2.5 million specimen flowering 
plant collections but there will be curatorial duties throughout the 
herbaria.  Duties will include the conservation and maintenance of the 
collections, entering collections information onto database, assisting 
scientific visitors to the flowering plant collections and supporting 
consultancy work

A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience is essential as is 
computer literacy and a genuine interest in flowering plants.

A diploma or postgraduate qualification in museum studies along with 
collections management experience and an interest in information handling 
and processing would be advantageous.

Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Benefits 
include a non-contributory pension scheme and a generous holiday leave 
entitlement.
