The recent discussion comparing the merits of Isopropyl and Ethanol seem not to have mentioned a major point - that the condition of DNA preserved in Isopropyl is considerably poorer than in Ethanol. I have this from a number of colleagues who have tried in vain to get good sequences out of Isopropyl-preserved material.
