We were referred to this resolution via a letter from the Herbarium at the Jardin Botanico de Rio de Janeiro as containing the policies that the Brazlian Government had established for transport/import of herbarium specimens.

Does anyone have detailed knowledge of the new laws concerning the import and export of natural specimens from Brazil? I understand from various sources that they are going to make life difficult for the scientific community, but am having trouble finding out exactly what the implications are. Please post any replies to the list, for the benefit of other collections managers and museum folk.
